Capturing the Energy and Generosity of Soirée Starlette

For the past 10 years, the Soirée Starlette has united Geneva around a giant fondue, raising funds for Swiss athletes and local sports associations. As a Geneva-based professional photographer, I had the pleasure of documenting the entire 10th edition of this vibrant and purpose-driven event.
Be Where the Action Is — Anticipating Every Angle
Covering an event with 500 guests demands more than just fast reflexes. It starts with location scouting, in this case the day prior. It is all about understanding the flow, from the branded photo-call at the entrance to the best vantage points in the Salle des Fêtes and on stage. And then comes the unexpected: like when the grand prize draw turned into a spontaneous whirlwind of raffle tickets thrown into the air. You don’t just react – you’re ready for it.
Held at the iconic Salle communale de Plainpalais, the evening brought together a true who's who – celebrated athletes, former olympic champions, and public figures, including Marie Barbey-Chappuis, Head of the Department of Security and Sports and several other members of Geneva’s executive council.

My focus was to capture the spirit of the event: portraits of guests at the branded photo-call, the warm energy around the giant fondue, the excitement of the tombola, and the dedication of the volunteers and staff behind the scenes. Each image was crafted to highlight the joyful, community-driven essence of Soirée Starlette.
My involvement goes beyond photography – it’s about contributing to a local initiative where sport, generosity, and civic spirit come together. These images help preserve the moment and support the association’s mission by giving visibility to its cause.
